KAIAC CELEBRATING ITS
40th ANNIVERSARY IN 2012!
The KAIAC conference will be celebrating its 40th Anniversary next school year with some special events including the naming of an athletic "All-Star Team of the Decade 2002-2012" from each of the member schools. Each member school will nominate five girl and boy athletes who will be honored at a special ceremony held during the KAIAC Governing Board Meeting on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the TCIS new Techno Valley Campus. Mr. Dave Ornarner, Sports Editor with the Pacific Stars & Stripes Newspaper and long-time historian of KAIAC, will be the guest master-of-ceremonies. Athletes named to
the "All-Star Team of the Decade 2002-2012" will receive special recognition at the ceremony with those athletes still in-country invited to attend the event. Look for details in the coming months.

TAKE GIRLS' & BOYS' SOCCER TITLES IN DIVISION I
--ICS-Ptk. & ICS-Ujb. Take Division II Regular Season & Tournaments for Girls' & Boys'
The Lady Crusaders of SFS took the regular season Division I Soccer title and looked to be on their way to the tournament title, but lost in the championship match to a determined SAHS Lady Falcons team in a mild upset! The SFS Boys' Soccer team won the regular season and tournament titles; however, YISS Guardians gave them a battle throughout the season and in the tournament. In Division I, the OAHS and GSIS athletic directors and communities are congratulated for an excellently run girls' and boys' tournaments in less than ideal weather conditions. In Division II, the Lady Conquerors of ICS-Ptk. took both the regular season and tournament titles in girls' soccer, while the Eagles of ICS-Ujb. took both the regular season and tournament titles in boys' soccer. In Division II, the APIS and KKFS athletic directors and communities are congratulated for an excellently run girls' and boys' tournaments.Find the end-of-season results by clicking the Athletics Menu Button.
KAIAC SWIMMING MEET HELD
Again this season, SAHS and SFS swimmers dominated the KAIAC Competitions. During the regular season, SAHS took first in the Boy's, Girls', and Combined categories. In the tournament, SFS Girls' took first-place with SAHS taking the Boys' and Combined categories. The SFS athletic director and its community are congratulated for an excellently run tournament.

FIRST ANNUAL DANCE COMPETITION HELD AT GSIS
On April 5, KAIAC held its second annual Dance event and its first ever competition. GSIS stepped forward and volunteered to host this first ever competition. Over seventy dancers participated from six schools including: GSIS; KIS; SFS; SIS; TCIS; and YISS. Guest judges and performers were the famous Korean professional dancers, Woong from the "Originality Lock" and Karl Dyzee Alba from the "Supernaturalz." School troupes performed a variety of dance forms including hiphop, poppin, jazz, breaking, lyrical, and contempora. YISS had three dance troupes: Amistad; G6; & Guardians Crew. KIS had two dance troupes: R. Ace Crew & Steppin Time. GSIS had two dance troupes: H.E.A.T. & R.A.C.E. Crew. SIS had one troupe: IB Project. TCIS had one troupe: E-Era. SFS had one troupe: Crusaders. The top two groups according to the guest judges were 1st Place-"G6" (YISS) and in 2nd Place- "IB Project" (SIS). Organizers Ms. Katie Lee, Jeremy Thomas, and Catherine Hann and the entire GSIS community are to be congratulated for hosting a well organized, fun and entertaining competition.
TCIS TAKES FORENSICS TITLE
TCIS took its fourth straight KAIAC Forensics (Speech and Debate) tournament with SFS finishing second and YISS coming in third in what was a very hotly contested competition. Eight KAIAC schools participated, including: APIS, CCS, IIS, KIS, SFS, SIS, TCIS, and YISS.
The TCIS community is congratulated for an excellently run tournament held in Daejeon on March 4-5.

MUSIC FESTIVALS HELD
Again this school year, the KAIAC Conference held three music festivals for both middle and high school levels. Over 200 talented musicians from eight KAIAC schools participated in each of the events. The one-day events, included ensemble work with both a KAIAC school music director and a special guest conductor. The culminating event of each festival was an afternoon concert. The concerts received rave reviews and students had a great experiences. Select band, choir, and orchestra members were named and received a patch. The Band Festival was held at SFS on Tuesday, November 2, the Choir Festival was held at KIS on Tuesday, February 8, and the Orchestra Festival was held at SFS on Thursday, March 3. SFS and KIS are congratulated for an excellently run festivals.
 KAIAC ATHLETC TEAMS EXCEL IN ASIA-WIDECOMPETITIONS
KAIAC Schools compete each year in the DoDDS Far East Tournaments (both Division I & II), the Asia Pacific Activities Conference (APAC) Tournaments, and the Association of International Schools in Asia (AISA) Tournaments. Overall, KAIAC Schools do very well in these post-season competitions. Please find the results of these competitions below:
